Women’s Round Tables

COVID-19 and the future of Sustainable Development Goals

Women’s Interdisciplinary Round Tables

The UN (2020) wrote: “we will overcome the COVID-19 pandemic only through effective collaboration and communication among scientists, experts, innovators and policymakers.”

We are social and political science academics from Flinders University in South Australia and Universitas Padjadjaran, West Java, Indonesia. Project funding is from the Australia-Indonesia Institute, Australian Government. We came together in bilateral discussion on the impact of COVID-19 on the Sustainable Development Goals.

Intellectuals, advocates, and change makers from Australia and Indonesia joined together in a series of asynchronous ’round tables; and discussed the critical need to keep advancing momentum for women during and beyond COVID-19.

Follow the blogs below. Watch what the experts had to say on women’s empowerment, the role for social work and welfare education, women’s equity in government and the need for sociopolitical action.
